There is a lot of breast beating and hand wringing beginning on this Marine who shot a wounded insurgent in the Falluja house-to-house battle for the city.
Get a grip people! I don’t care what the circumstances were, the Marine did the right thing. I don’t care what happened before he got there or after he got there, he did the right thing. And just in case you left wing liberal weenies have conveniently forgotten—Lt. Kerry was given the Silver Star for shooting a wounded VietCong boy in the back. Can you say "Double Standard"?
My view is that if the press tries to indict this Marine or make him the bad guy in this they are going to get a backlash from the American public that they just are not ready for. The people of this country (with the exception of the liberal elite and the MSM press) are not going to give a damn about the circumstances of how or why that rag- head lost his life. One day before he got to take a sand nap he was trying to kill any Marine he could. Bodies have been booby-trapped, insurgents have pretended to be dead and fired on troops and at the end of the day house-to-house fighting is of a nature that you shoot first and sort out the bodies later.
I don’t care on any level what the circumstances were. That young Marine did the right thing!
